Cycling system of Drenthe:

The Recreatieschap Drenthe has launched the now famous junction cycling systems in the period 2008-2010. The system is connected to the local junction cycle points in Friesland and Overijssel. It is unique to the junction cycling systems of  Drenthe that the existing many ANWB signposted routes have been integrated into the new cycling system. All 28 touristic routes remain identifiable and fully incorporated into the junction cycling system. For the  new cycling system, a corresponding map and website has been developed.

A junction cycling system is a network of associated routes. The crossroads where the routes meet each other, are called nodes. The nodes themselves are marked. Along the numbered signs you cycle from node to node. The routes of the nodes were put out along the beautiful bike paths of Drenthe. By every node there is an information panel with a node card. You can then select your desired cycle route and distance. Freedom and flexibility are privileges of the system.
